Jim Candelaria, general contractor for Candelaria Construction was born and raised in Cortez Colorado and was taught the building trade at a very young age working with his father in the Construction Industry. He has worked in the construction industry his entire life, forming Candelaria Construction in 1992. He offers over 25 years of building and business experience to his customers. Jim was awarded “Builder of the Year” by the MontDolores Home Builders Association (now the Four Corners
Builders Association) in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 and was voted “Colorado Builder of the Year” by
the Colorado Association of Home Builders in 2002. He was also the subject of the featured article “Builder Ready When the
Alarm Sounds” in the April 2002 issue of Colorado Builder Forum.
Jim is also a Battalion Chief for the City of Farmington, New Mexico. The schedule with Farmington Fire Department has never interfered with running his business or serving his community.
